  • Initially the nose was bursting , an explosion of power. Decided to drink 3 hours later. Nose had toned down but still smelled very rich. The wine sits on the palate for at least two mins. If not more. Tannins Aren’t bold but they do linger on the palate the whole time during the aftertaste. Lil spice comes through but somewhat subtle. The fruit isn’t bold either. Very balanced wine but not as soft as it possibly could be five to ten years from now. Red fruits initially from first few seconds. Then dark fruits the whole time after that. But not bold dark fruits. Not blackberry but more dark plum Alcohol isn’t big either doesn’t need food but taste better with something that isn’t heavily seasoned. In my opinion u can drink now with some air applied to the wine or u can wait few more years an it even mellows out a lil more an starts to take on a more feminine role while still being concentrated an masculine.

  • From Coravin. Super expressive nose with cassis, bramble, oak. Fine tannins, balanced by the nice acidity. Very fruity palate with black fruits everywhere - so balanced and deep. Long ending with white pepper and oak. This is an awesome wine. Still young, but already great albeit in a primary stage still. Drink now with some air or wait 3-4 years. My first Insignia and surely not my last.

  • 3 hour decant, back into the bottle to take to our tasting tonight and enjoyed over another 3-4 hours of slow ox there.....

A small amount of lightening in the glass but still at least medium garnet, no real bricking per se. Bdx-ish nose of red/dark red fruit like plums and an herbal component. The palate revealed a smooth integrated mouth feel, with soft red fruit and some pepper. If anything, this vintage feels softer, more feminine and understated than others. Complex notes on nose and palate when compared against the singular Cabernets of this evening.....
