First tasted with Coravin in April ‘22 and the rest tonight. It was , for sure , better now. It was rough 18 months ago , uncharming but this evening more charming with Dark fruit notes, mineral, herbal , and Gevrey spice. Solid wine.

Four wine Burgundy weekend: Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2017, Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 2018, Bouley Volnay Clos de la Cave 2018 and Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanee 2018. Tasted all four blind, was shocked by the results, from an Oaky watery mess to an easy WOTN which I was not expecting. Shows the importance of blind tasting.
Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2017 was certain a disappointing, and my first notes were: Watery, Oaky, mess. I know certain changes have occurred in the vineyard in recent years including reducing the oak and picking earlier. The nose showed underripe red berries, rose petals, moss, fresh soil and spices, all very light and quiet. The palate was medium bodied, light and not very energetic, quite messy with little structure, notes of berries, subtle tannins, sandalwood that quickly lead to a light and nearly watery mid-palate, not much in the terms of depth or complexity, finishing short. What a disappointment! This is an 87 point wine, however was this possible a fake bottle?

herbal, has edges, not much fruit, refined tannins, hard to detect as a Gevrey, very elegant and subtle, classic light-footed Pinot Noir

Floral with red fruit and high acid. A delicate Gevrey that is drinking beautifully.

Wild berries, darkish red fruit, spice, earth and minerals. Expressive palate with moderate weight. A very good village wine.
