High ullage and cork in prestine condition. PNP into Kimura Cava glass (“Leaf” day): Medium garnet with bricking rim.
Alluring bouquet of black wild cherries, plums and meaty, sous bois notes. Typical profile of a GC at this caliber?
On the palate, acidity remains quite fresh and well integrated with the complex flavor profile (though not exceptionally layered), the tannins is almost fully resolved at this point but still in very good structure. Good persistency to the savory finish. This has a good balance of the expected power of a GC but also the finesse of a top Bourgogne indeed.
This would likely still hold for another 3-5 years given the condition. This is 94-95 points to me.

This was opened up while the 98 LaTache developed in the glass. Initially I thought this was dead but after 45 min in the glass the nose opened and the fruit and finish made a grande appearance. Amazing how properly stored wine even at the village level seems immortal. This was a pleasant wine well past it’s prime with some fruit and nice balance. These should be consumed but this bottle seemed to have the ability to be ‘drinkable’ for a few more years.

Amazing how well the acidity and fruit have held up for a village wine. Nose showed aromatics of sweet cherry fruit, dried flowers and earth. Palate had a nice dose of sweetness with bright acidity. It faded after an hour. Drink up. 91-92

Pleasant surprise. Good color and nose, drinking pretty well, got better as it opened.
