Rousseau dinner at Jade Palace: Stylistically very similar to the '19 Rousseau Clos du Château. Candied, jammy fruit that needs more time to integrate. Better with air so can see the potential the previous tasters mentioned.

Wild berries, forest, minerals, violets and fresh flowers on the nose and palate. Palate is sappy with good fruit purity and concentration for its level. Very good village wine.

Absolutely beautiful despite the hot vintage. The wine is so pure, feminine and expressive with pretty red fruit. No sign of the solar vintage. A stellar village wine. In fact, I like Claude Dugat’s 2018 more so than 2017. 91-92

PnP. ABV 12.5%. Surprisingly low ABV from an extremely hot vintage. Expressive and perfumed nose, flowers intermixed with spices and woods. Very promising based on nose alone. Dense and good length for a village. Finished spicy and warm. Mouth watering acidity. Approachable now with ripe dark fruits and fine tannins. Showing quite well, probably better than ‘16 opened a few months ago which is a surprise. How did they manage to keep ABV at 12.5%? Wine producers have come a long way in dealing with hot vintages.
