Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Prices of this have massively increased, but I think quality is still quite average. Softer and more polished than in the past but I am missing the aromatic complexity.

Tasting at Domaine Pierre Damoy (Gevrey Chambertin): Just racked and blended. Whoa, a serious step up (both terroir and vintage, I suspect). Amazingly potent and layered aromas -- black cherry, meat, earth and spice. Oh my, this is so rich, round and powerful. Epic amounts of concentration. Powerful and long. A delicious wine. 95+

Burgundy, Day 2 (Beaune, France): This had been just racked and blended. A powerful wine with intense black fruit and tannin. A massive structure and ripe fruit to match. No issues with overripeness in this wine. There's impressive breadth on the palate for this wine, and it's something that will need quite some time before it's truly showing its stuff.

Pierre Damy is the largest owner of Clos de Beze, 5.36ha. The Chambertin Clos de Beze is significantly bigger and riper than the Chambertin. Ultra-ripe blackberries, smoked herbs and earthy forest floor. Powerful and big-boned with tannic backbone. 14.5% alcohol? A monumental Chambertin Clos de Beze. (89-90/100)

Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. Dense and ripe, not very complex.
