Perhaps a better showing than two years ago. Strong varietal character and sense of place. This bottle featured rippin' acid and paired well with many foods, including stewed beef.

Notes of confit lemon, tangerine oil, dried white flowers and frangipan lead into an elegantly glossy, full-bodied wine with a bright spine of acidity, good depth at the core and impressive tension and grip on the moderate finish. This is a really creditable showing for the vintage and appellation; a lovely bottle of mature Puligny.

40th bday celebration; 2/17/2017-2/18/2017 (Harrison, ID): Have a had few of these and they have been an education of Montrachet and Puligny-Motrachet and what they do with age. Layers of diminishing vanilla, wool and wax, flowers that are now decomposing, mineral beam, and still weighted on the palate. This hit a bit of a wall on day two but I think drank on it's own you wouldn't notice.

Still delivering sublime pleasure after 23 years. Subtle yet piercing, great acid, its complexities border on the ethereal. At or near peak. 92-93.
