Dried red fruit, forest floor, spices and sanguine. Good concentration, and balance. Still a lot of longevity, but maturing faster than the 10 I recently tried. Felt a bit disjoint, was this due to the half bottle, bottle variation, or weaker vintage?
Medium garnet colour.
Pronounced aromas of dried red cherries, cranberries, plums, mushroom, forest floor, dried tobacco leaf, cinnamon, sanguine, wet dirt.
Pronounced palate.
Medium (+) body, medium (+) tannin, high acidity, long finish.

Two bottles, both excellent. Would have benefitted from longer decant. Structure here to continue developing for many years, like most LdH wines. Sweet berries, dried red fruit, earthy leathery tertiary tones. Smooth mouthfeel, great acidity; clean, long finish. Tasted reserva ‘07, ‘09, ‘10 and ‘11 this month and the 2009 ranks second amongst these for me. (@D’Olier Street).

Still rather tannic - will the red fruit outlive the dryish tannins ?

This one really died on me. Not sure if it was just the bottle or if it's past its prime.

A classic styled Rioja that is elegant but well structured with a frame of tart cranberry with iron/earth elements. Great QPR
