Very aromatic bouquet. Soft barrel. High acidity and a little soy sauce after sitting in bottle for 2 hrs. Later in glass after 0.5 hr, dark cherries, smoky and sandalwood. Full-bodied. Full of tannins but quite soft and comfortable.

Still very young. Even with a short decant, it started light and acidic, but it developed very nicely over the course of the evening, and into the second day. There is still nothing heavy about it as it develops, but the acidity diminishes and an astonishing complexity emerges -- red fruits and leather and something herbal and a slight tobacco smokiness. I'm going to leave my other bottles for quite a while. If you can't wait, decant it well ahead of the meal, and serve it with some lighter food, that won't eclipse the array of flavors in the wine.
