Stunning. Layered, rich, complex, sings of the land, yet with bright acidity behind. Garrigue, ginder, butter, lemon, brioche. I can understand why JLL bought 6 MG's of this for his daughters wedding. #Anton

Aroma: Intense and complex, with notes of white peach, apricot, citrus fruits, honeysuckle, and white flowers. There are also hints of minerality, toast, and spice.
Palate: Full-bodied and rich, with a creamy texture. The flavors are ripe and concentrated, with notes of citrus fruits, white peach, apricot, honey, and spice. The finish is long and lingering.
Overall: This is a beautifully balanced and complex white wine from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is a great choice for pairing with seafood, poultry, or grilled meats.

Vieux Telegraphe Vertical (The Sun Street Hotel, Liverpool Street): Very pale yellow. Grassy, a little wax or oil, extremely fresh with high acidity, accompanied by an underlying sense of sweetness to balance - honey almost, or pineapple broom flower. Overall it ends up slightly savoury in nature, herbal and a bit nutty but with a hint of pear drops. Although this will keep, I appreciate this style of wine in its youth more than with bottle age. Very pleasant indeed and a nice start to the evening. 40% clairette, 30% grenache, 15% roussanne, 15% bourboulenc.

Vieux Telegraphe Vertical (Sun Street Hotel, Liverpool Street, London): Nutty, honeyed nose with some acacia and salinity. With time some wilted tarragon herbiness too. Palate is fresh, cool fruited with some some sherbet pip acidity (not enough to please real hard core acid lovers) and great length.
