  • Utterly transcendent at 101 years young. Dried cranberries, lovely cedar, cherry mash bordering on the slightest, welcome sour. Tertiary earth notes and glances of umami. Superbly elegant mouthfeel, with nary hints of tannin (still!), the finish persists for 45+ seconds. A once in a lifetime selection found at Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa, FL. An emotional wine indeed.

  • This was such an emotional wine for me. I have always wanted to enjoy a wine from my grandmother's birth year and at 99 I am so fortunate that she is still with us.

This is an umami bomb of a wine with mushroom consumee, miatake, soy, black cherry, red currant and toffee. Absolutely beautiful spherical center of the palate. Completely unique.

Same bottle as EC. Rare find at Berns in Tampa

  • Such a surprise from an unheralded vintage, but there’s no denying the appeal of the fresh redcurrant fruit, supported by chestnut, miatake, and leather. A tasty umami character is balanced beautifully by the merest hint of (welcome) volatile acidity.
