  • Beautiful mature Pomerol from outstanding vintage. Nose offers leather, mature plum aromas, herbs and some earthy notes. Densely structured palate reveals again mature plum, clove, cigar box and some earthy notes set against nice freshness and soft and silky tannins that leave long, smooth and seducible finish. At its peak.

  • 11th of 12, opened an hour then decanted an hour, perfect cork and level, better nose than palate which had slightly green edge, attractive plum and truffle flavours with reasonable acid lift, ok length and persistence though I'd have expected more heft in this vintage, plateau, no rush. F (17.5).

  • Bright plums, roasted apples, smoke, herbs, cocoa and citrus make the nose a bit better than the palate. Medium-bodied, chalky with touches of orange rind, cherry griotte, chocolate and dust, this has moved slightly past its prime and entering its slow decline. Drink from 2023-2027.

  • Wonderful explosive nose of pipe tobacco and cedar, with sweet mature fruit notes. Entry on the palate is rather soft, round and velvety mouthfeel with some back fruits and hints of pipe tobacco. Unfortunately. Becomes astringent with rough tannins on the finish and has a rather short clipped finish. I guess not an off bottle given NM’s note. I doubt this will fill out and get better. Perfectly enjoyable, but nothing exceptional. Probably underperformed for the vintage.

  • Awesome mature Bordeaux nose with dark fruit and tertiary notes, especially truffles. Getting a bit oxidative with time in glass. Fully mature, drink up.

(Chateau Clinet) This was shut tight. There was a nice core of minerality, steely fruit and big tannin. No hint of oak or over-extraction. Cannot believe Michel Rolland made this.
