Agreed with other posters that this feels quite youthful still and could go for more time in the bottle. This feels medium/full bodied - but quite classical Pomerol. The first thing I picked up on the nose and palate was bacon fat - some air at this stage would probably have helped it open up.

Young but quite powerful for the vintage. Rich dark fruits with good underlying acidity. The tannins are firm but smooth and this should age nicely. 92+

92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon from 11.5 ha of mixed gravel, clay, and iron-rich sandy soils and vines of average age 45 yrs planted 6,777-7,200/ha. “La Grand Vigne", a special parcel of old-vine merlot is horse-ploughed. Vinified (since 2014) in 17 temperature-controlled, double-walled, stainless steel vats (25-45 HL). Malolactic in both French oak barrels and vats. Aging 18-22 months in oak barrels (72% new). 13% Abv.
Background: Planted as early as 1785, Clinet was bought by Jean-Louis Laborde in late 1998. In 2004 son Robnan Laborde (a marathoner and head of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux) took charge. Proprietors: Ronan Laborde and spouse Monique Bailly
A(ccuray)=2: Med deep ruby. Focused Merlot blend. B(alance)=2: Ripe fruit with close-knit acid and tannic structure. C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, plum, oak tannin, chalky minerality. D(epth)=2: Round mouthfeel. Full palate and long finish.
Wine Tally Score [2,2,2,2]= 8/10
Taut at this young stage but in distinctive Clinet style.

This wine is very good but painfully young. It has terrific freshness and acidity backed by plentiful black fruits. Think Trotanoy with less hedonism. In about 5 plus years it should blossom into a truly lovely wine. Ronan really worked his magic in this challenging vintage.

Well, I waited almost 2 years for the next bottle, paid $95.99, however the Clinet is still too young. Not rated because this is a good wine however it needs more time than I can give it.
