  • None of the 2003 heat is apparent. Opulent fruit, fleshy, with juice, on the dark side of the spectrum
Rich and hearty, with a sumptuous dollop of sweetness in the mix. Yeah

  • Rich dark red black ruby color. Some signed of age. Nice legs. Nose is terrific, seductive and mature. Initially dark red fruits and floral (wild berries and fresh cut violets). As it opened it changed and became spicier with classic Asian spices and floral notes. Ripe and rich dark red fruit on the palate, slightly extracted and opulent for vosne but well integrated and with great structure and fine but still very present tannins. Velvet texture with medium to full body. Good length on the spice filled finish. Shows like a grand cru and in a great place right now but will be fine another 5-10 years.

  • I liked it a lot for a Burg which is saying something since my 'all roads lead to Burgundy' finds me still very much on the journey and unclear if the destination really will be as described. As someone at the table mentioned, it was a bit richer than standard. I tasted a bit more spice than I would normally expect from a Pinot grape. Some thought the fruit had faded too much, but I liked some of the secondary flavors. Did have a quicker finish. Nice, but don't think I appreciated it enough.

  • Dark, vegetal, earthy on the nose. Smooth, silky, spicy, white pepper, astringent, some leather and some blueberry and blackberry. Lovely effort, just needs some more age.

  • Big and dark and full of new grapes. Hard to see through to the future. Nothing wrong here, but it's a barrel sample… Check in again in a decade.
