  • Wonderfully lustrous mid ruby. Mid red fruit, a nicely autumnal sense of sous bois. Initially quite ripe, lightening and tightening after an hour or so so a silkier texture, and a cool minerality providing a fine spine. So much brighter and better than a slightly stern previous bottle five years ago. For a village wine, this is really quite accomplished. ****

  • 2/2, excellent cork.
Pale/medium garnet core, pale garnet/mahogany rim. Nose still quite youthful - strabwerries, florals, vanilla with some soil and undergrowth too. Medium bodied, styrawberries again on the palate, touch of undergrowth, has real energy with vibrant acids, and some grip still on medium/good length finish. Drinking well, no particular hurry.

  • Mid ruby to mid garnet. Quite a pretty nose, with sous bois and a touch of caramel over mellow red fruit. Nicely lifted. Sweet-fruited attack in line with the nose, but then a very strict line through to a firm finish. Not gracious and giving. Works well with a veal chop but needs a little more gras to be enjoyable away from the table. Somewhat mean. That ‘firm, tight mineral line’ dominates too much. ***

  • Somewhat dusty ruby, with bricking of the rims.
Evolved nose, with tobacco notes, walnut and red fruit in the background.
Splendid palate, silky, enveloping, with sweet red fruit, but with a liquor-like character rather than fresh. Tannins are integrated now but still barely perceivable.
    I enjoyed it a lot.

  • Medium garnet core, wide pale mahogany rim. Attractive, developed nose showing sappy, bright red cherry fruit, notes of game and chalky minerals. Medium bodied on the palate, with bright red fruits initially to the fore, vibrant acidity, slightly grainy tannins, then savoury game and chalky notes on the good length finish. Very good.
