This was never going to set the world on fire, but as it's lost its fruit, its initial attraction has dissipated. What is left is quite an angular wine, which while well constructed, is an austere experience. Decanting does help, but treat it as an everyday cru bourgeois.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow": Pauillac and St. Julien (By me @ the factory): Very beautiful bouquet with dark berries, beautiful oak and cedar and graphite. Same impressions on the palate, some smoke, cocoa and beautiful acidity, round tannin with still a pleasant bite. Great length. Very beautiful wine in its maturity stage, but no hurry.

this was tasted after 3 prestigious bottles of 1982 vintage Bordeaux. it could not have held up to Calon Segur, Canon and La Lagune. it was i feel just over the edge in drinkability and would have been nicer a year or more ago.Dark fruit which dissipated quite quickly in the glass leaving mineral and an inkiness which while not unpleasant could not follow the brilliant Canon

Ever so classic! Now the blackberries play bass in the background while forest floor and pepper sing the tune. It does exactly what an aged Cab Sauv blend was meant for: an easy but interesting wine to accompany red meat. Drink within a decade. 91 points

Drank from 375ml. A bit long in the tooth from this format.
