  • Nice aged Bordeaux. I think also probably on the downslope of drinking window so time to have them but it still had the fruit along with more secondary notes. A treat to get to try.

  • The colour of this 61 years old Margaux is amazingly young for its age, it showed the colour of tawny Port at the rim with deep ruby reflection in the middle. The aged bouquet opened up in 10 mins after pouring. There are aroma of preserved plums, seasoned leather, earth, dried herbs and hints of citrus skins and lightly toasted clove. Gentle yet sophisticated. Palate showed a balanced and silky texture, still with good density, depth and length. Some lifting acidity towards the end of the medium-bodied structure provided a nice layer to the otherwise harmonious profile. Tannins while softened and velvety are still there to hold the elements together. Finish is surprisingly deep and lingering with an aftertaste of preserved black fruits, undergrowth and seasoned wood. While I won’t recommend that you keep this any longer, it is certainly not dead, it is still young at heart.
