Notes in the sequence of the tasting book, not the sequence tasted.
Walk around tasting. From magnum. Lemon and some apple, all very bright and tense. Getting close to its drinking window in this format.

Walk around tasting. Ripe but with bright textures. Good density and length. Still fresh for this ripe vintage.

Walk around tasting. Lemon and apple, bright and mature. In its peak drinking window.

Walk around tasting. Lean and bright apple with good length and persistence. I might be undervaluing this wine because it was served too warm.

Walk around tasting. Less fresh but with very good density. Lots of ripe and complex apple from start-to-finish. From an era in which Fevre wines were less reliable from bottle-to-bottle.

Walk around tasting. Very big and very ripe. This doesn't start out saying "Chablis" to me, but the energy comes back to its terroir by the finish. Good now.

Walk around tasting. Classically Chablis, lean, vibrant and energetic. Good length. Good now.

Walk around tasting. Very "2013" with good density and a sweet/tart thing going on, synthesizing in good harmony. Sneaky good length. My favorite of the vertical.

Walk around tasting. Rich start, good weight and concentration, then brighter on the finish with mineral textures.

Walk around tasting. Fleshy and fun, this is a good glass of Chardonnay, more so than a classic glass of Chablis. Good now.

Walk around tasting. Even more ripe, this has lots of power. Good richness to start, brighter on long-ish finish. Very good 90+ points.

Walk around tasting. Lean, bright, and classic. Bright apple and lemon with minerally textures and an intriguing combination of near-ripe, lean, and bitter that all work well together.

Walk around tasting. Bright apple and lemon, nicely persistent, good density, very good length.

Walk around tasting. Bigger with more density, just less precise, slightly shorter. Still very good, this is drinking well now.

Walk around tasting. Bright lemon and apple with dancing textures. Powerful finish. So good now, still further upside.

Walk around tasting. Big-boned Grand Cru showing apple and lemon with a delicately floral start. Long, precise, and muscular, this will reward another few years in the cellar. 93-94+ points.

Walk around tasting. Great nose shows both sweet and tart character in wonderful equilibrium. Similar on palate with good+ weight and length. Another 2013 that is much better now vs when released. This will age gracefully.

Walk around tasting. Lemon, lime, lemon curd with subtle floral and spice notes. Good density and persistent. Very good now.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Not really accessible right now (still slightly reduced?), but so much here. Subdued aromas, then richer on palate with lemon zest, lemon curd and faint tropical hints. Structure slightly obscures the flavors today, better 2025 forward, 93+ point potential, just not there yet.

Walk around tasting. the ripest of the trio, but also clearly well structured and balanced. Very good now.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Floral and inviting. Ripe, but will very good balance and an "old school" structure that restrains 2015 opulence nicely. Very good length. Good now.

Walk around tasting. Classic and lean with good brightness and very good length. I expected slightly more concentration in this great vintage, but still very good now.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Showcasing the sweet/tart character of the best 2013s, with complex and layer flavors and textures. Very good now.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Lean apple and pear, least bright of the trio. Good now, little upside, slightly lacking depth.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Excellent now, maybe even better in a few more years? 94-95 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Rich and powerful, this shows excellent concentration carrying it through with moderate structure. It will be interesting to see how/ where this evolves.

Walk around tasting. Ever-so-tasty, slightly lacking in vibrancy at present. Big and delicious stone fruit with apple notes, lots here, but are the bones here, too? Great now (like previous bottles), so not worth the risk of further cellaring

Walk around tasting. Fleshy, fun, and easy to enjoy right now.

Walk around tasting. Apple and lemon with good energy, length, and lift. Good now with upside.

Walk around tasting. Starts out rich, ends with brighter textures, not quite coming across as fully harmonious, but very easy to enjoy. This should easily drink well through 2030.

Walk around tasting vertical. Precise with good+ length, ending with richness and nutty character, good depth. Good now.

Walk around tasting vertical. This was the table highlight with good combination of fresh and mature character, so complex and layered right now. Good+ depth. Enjoy through 2025.

Walk around tasting vertical. Mature and tasty, certainly still good, but time to drink up. I obviously do not know if some bottles were opened and tired, so not served, which would not surprise me.

Walk around tasting vertical. No SO2, 100% whole cluster. Very tasty with slightly jammy character. Slightly simple, but balanced with reasonable length, so this might broaden and pick up depth with a few years in bottle. 87-88 point potential.

Walk around tasting vertical. Ripe and fleshy with black cherry, dark chocolate, and subtle spice. Long finish shows moderate nuance. Good now.

Walk around tasting vertical. An odd 2010. Firm tannins make this barely approachable for now. Good stuffing.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting vertical. Also still firm, but much more accessible than 2010 (surprising / rare), with lots of ripe, fleshy, dense fruit start-to-finish. Better from 2029.

Walk around tasting vertical. Nicely spiced with a floral start. Slightly lighter and leaner than I recall from before, or expect from 2014, but well balanced with good length. Good now.

Walk around tasting vertical. First vintage. Good nose shows bright red fruit, floral, and spice notes. Palate is slightly less forthcoming and surprisingly still firm.

Walk around tasting vertical. Big, dense and powerful for Nico's wines. Certainly finessed, nearly approachable, but still brooding. Lots here, cellar for at least a few more years.

Walk around tasting vertical. October harvest, remember those? Lots of red fruit with just enough ripeness. Volnay floral and spice hints from middle-to-finish. Time in bottle has helped bring out Volnay terroir. I like this more now vs when last tasted in 2016.

Walk around tasting. Lighter styled but very pretty red cherry and berry, faintly mature, nicely supported with delicate spice and floral notes. Very easy and well balanced. In the middle of its peak drinking window.

Walk around tasting vertical. Big red fruit seems so fun and accessible already, but clearly not simple. So many 2018s are not even close to accessible, but this is charming, even if just hinting at its potential, 91-92 points.

Walk around tasting vertical. Wow, what a treat. Floral and spiced with red cherry and berry, both bold and bright. Great length, already nicely finessed. Just entering what will be a decade+ long drinking window.

Walk around tasting vertical. Still slightly firm, borderline rustic, but also lots of bright black and red cherry. Well balanced, a real success for the vintage. Good now.

Walk around tasting vertical. Leaner with good enough weight, but the structure is at least as prominent as the fruit.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting vertical. Big and dense black fruit, lots of concentration, lots of structure. I do not know when this will emerge from its dormancy, but there is enough stuffing to last until whenever. I think this has 91-92 potential, and will guess from 2030.

Walk around tasting vertical. Accessible for young Pommard. Slightly sweet red fruit while also well balanced. Good already with sneaky good length. I expect this will put on weight in the cellar.

Walk around tasting vertical. Much bigger structure, fruit, and concentration. Lots here, very good potential, but not in the near future, probably needs until 2030 or later, 91-92 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting vertical. Powerful black fruit, even more firm than the 2015, but probably even greater density. I like the potential more today than when last tasted in 2018, but think this still needs another decade+ in the cellar, 90-92 point potential. That's what to expect from good Pommard Rugiens.

Walk around tasting vertical. Magnum. Big and fleshy red and black cherry with savory spice, all well balanced for a 2009 Grand Cru at this stage. Very good length. Very good now, with further upside, 92+ points, drink over the next two decades.

Walk around tasting vertical. Similar fruit and textural profile as the 2013 and 2014, with slightly better 1er Cru concentration, even if even leaner. OK overall.

Walk around tasting vertical. Spiced aromatic start with red cherry and berry. Slightly underripe on palate. Good now.

Walk around tasting vertical. Ripe cherry, somewhat more black vs red, with baking spice, seemingly very whole cluster. Good depth, but not perfectly harmonious. Still, good density and good overall.

Walk around tasting vertical. Certainly lean but very bright, concentrated, and well balanced. very good now. Surprisingly my fav of the trio, but this is a great holding in Clos Vougeot.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Plenty of red cherry, nothing bitter or green, but certainly still firm. That said, there is a lot here, so this manages to retain its balance with good+ depth, this is good now.

Walk around tasting vertical. Ripe fresh and dried red cherry and berry with savory spice. Enticing aromas, then bigger and fleshier on palate that will merit a few more years in the back of the cellar. 92-93+ point potential.

Walk around tasting vertical. Great olfactory start with savory spice, roasted meat, black and red cherry. Similar flavor profile, just less robust and not quite showing Grand Cru density to me. Good length. Good now.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Biggest and most fat of the trio. A nicely ripe combination of red and black cherry flavors are supported by Asian five spice. Good weight, very good length.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Enchanting aromatic start with so much spice and a complex array of berries. Similar flavor profile is rich without showing particular power, but very spiced, bright, and lithe, ending with great length and a finessed finish.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Less forward than the 2010 or 2012, this seemed less "Liger-Belair" to me with a slightly firm, backward character, even with plenty of cherry throughout.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Ripe red fruit with an old vine concentration that adds lots of intensity. Subtle spice trying to break through, with structure in the near background, this has lots in reserve, even while balanced now. More may emerge with cellar time.

Walk around tasting in (great) vertical. Dense and ripe red fruit, seeming to shut down vs when tasted before release. This is firm for the vintage, but the concentration carries it through to the long finish. Needs another 5+ years in the cellar.

Walk around tasting in (great) vertical. Great aromas with so much cherry and so much savory spice. Really enchanting start, this follows through on the palate with lots of silky, elegant structure. Even better now vs when tasted shortly after release. Getting close to its peak drinking window.

Walk around tasting. So 2005 with so much fruit, so much concentration, so much tannin, but not lots of pleasure, at least right now. But lots here, and I am confident this will be a great wine...someday. 2030 forward?

Walk around tasting. Rich and ripe black cherry and plum with meaty character. Very balanced and even-keeled through to its long finish. A very approachable 2009 that is already so fun now, but certainly with further upside.

Walk around tasting. My first time tasting since at the domaine in 2010. Black and red cherry is simultaneously bright and fresh fruit as well as gracefully maturing with sauvage and leather. So much here, this is at a wonderful place right now.
