It is not the fault of Rateau that the Reversées is not likeable at this point.
In contrast to 2015 an awful lot of 2014 red Burgundys have completely closed doors.
So be patient, lay them away and wait till 2022, I think this wine will then be delicious.

Remarkable. Got four Magnums at Ebay (first thought : A Vin de France sealed with a crown cap????) and two empty can only say a very good wine from a neglected variety. If you do not like the Carbon Dioxid sparkle, decant (it is not still fermenting!). Very concentrated fruit, reminding of CabFranc but more bitter tones. Drink it chilled at 12-14 degrees so you can enjoy the freshness. Utterly gulpable and giving no headache. Understandable that the NOMA wanted his wines.

Excellent for what it is. Had to date no better simple Beaujolais. I think they do not use 71b, so you have a "true" Beaujolais feel with it.

Year after year one of the finest Minervois. Bursting with delicious fruit undisturbed from new wood. But a few more years in the bottle make it only more delicious, as I had the 2009 recently. Beats a lot of "Super-Cuvees". And the price, a steal. By the way, it should not called "Mourvedre Blend". As I know it contains 80 per cent Syrah and 20 per cent Mourvedre.

Private tasting of french wines The last one in the lineup and the star. A touch up from the last two bottles. What a luck I had with this case. Absolutely stunning. No signs of weakening. I think this vintage shows why at the beginning of Daumas Gassac there were comparisons with Lafite and Latour.

I really do not like this vintage. Where is terroir, where is gevrey, where is even a burgundy ? Overcooked fruits with an oxidative impression, lacking acidity. No.

Very good, fruity. The Domargues manage to extract the freshness that is in the Gigondas Wines with Cinsault (like Cayron) and show that you can make a good wine from a variety that is not high regarded.

Two bottles. Both too tannic and a disturbing taste of wood. Can it be absorbed ? I doubt it but will wait with the last bottle till 2016.

Very nice, a feminine Rôtie. Faury works with 15 percent Viognier and this leads to a more light but very agreeable elegant result. Because of the solid acid framework can go for six more years. Rebuy : Yes.

This is a Beaujolais which can be called fine, because it has real complexity combined with the silky deliciousness of the fruit. Very balanced with every detail in the right place.

Very lovely and extremely pleasant. Wonderful nose, midweight body with a lot of fruit and balancing acidity, surprisingly intense with a good finish. More weight than the Prevoles but not less charming.

An impressive experience. For me simply impossible to describe all impressions. Nearly too much, exotic. I think those wines from places like Romanee St.Vivant, if from a good vintage and good producer, are completely apart from the "normal" Burgundy.

o.k. I gave me another try. The wine is better than the first bottle but still too much tannin and acidity and too less fruit. Maybe it is the same as with Lafarge or Amiot-Servelle, it it very difficult to get a bottle at the right point and they demand much more cellaring than those of other producers. They have, to speak with Anthony Hanson, a long window of undrinkability.

I liked this Nouveau very much. Very round and balanced. Sadly I got only one bottle. A reliable producer from Romaneche-Thorins making besides his Villages a Village blanc, Fleurie and Moulin-a-Vent, a Bourgogne blanc and a Cremant de Bourgogne.

Very nice Beaujolais Nouveau. A party wine with class. Some dryness on the finish, but that is good, so you have to take another sip to do something against the dryness :-)

Two bottles. In short : Dull, uninteresting. No personality. Lacks anything that should make a Grand Cru. Avarage Gevrey 1er Cru Quality.

This is a classic Chateauneuf of all 13 cepages. I do not think you need all 13 to make a good ChdP but my conviction is Grenache needs something added to make the sum become a better than an avarage wine and become complex. So here is freshness, balance and complexity despite 14,5 alc.

Unbelievable. Nearly 20 years old and no sign of age. Deep coloured, fresh nose and superb concentrated and balanced on the palate. Long finish. A backbone of acidity and tannin that promises more years of fun with this wine ( with a little risk that the fruit dries out ). I think it is maybe too because the Muntada is in it. I read somewhere they started bottling it apart the first time in 1995. Very fine plus.

Wonderful balanced middleweight Hermitage, beginning to come out of its youth. First bottle two years ago was way too young but this showed much better. Try to hide away the last from myself at least three years :-)

Same as before. Everything is nicely balanced. From the "Sweetness"it reminded me of some Chambolle Groffiers from 2000, very elegant and cool for a Gevrey.

For what should such a "Thing"( is it Wine?) be good for ? There is no food pairing for such an overalcoholic, overconcentrated sirup and a horror to drink it solo. Yes, but good to impress as a first sip in a tasting and yes, there are the points from the "Professionals". Sorry, not from me. This is a caricature of a Chateauneuf.

The best Chevillon I have had so far. Bursting with fruit, balanced as those 2002 are, full, rich and good lengh, this beats lesser Grand Crus and you understand why people promote it for Grand Cru.

Very good light to midweight villages. Stunning how good the quality of this relatively unknown producer throughout the range of his reds is. Everything in this wine is very precise worked out. Will need two more years to show all. The remarkable elegant silky tannins from 2010 are noteworthy.

At this moment completely closed. Fruit, acidity and silky tannins are in development. Think it will turn out extremely fine, burgundian kind when finished. Only troubling point is the impression of lacking acidity. Had this impression with the more developed Landonne from Rostaing, too, let's see how they will be further down the road.

This was and is a major surprise (two bottles). This is definite 1er Cru Level. Full Pinot fruit, mild acidity , wonderful tannin structure, it has a balanced roundness like in the wines of Virgile Lignier, Berthaut from Fixin or Rateau. And a distinct terroir-personality and this at only 12 %, delicious.

Deeply dissappointing. Not better than an avarage lower quality Gevrey, NO ! I think typical for those hyped ballyhoo micro-negociant wines(since 2002 Boisset has a micro-business, led by Gregory Patriat). Oh yes, all of them discover suddenly magical wine rows that were lost in time and space (we all know that Cote d'Or is as great as Canada), they have no experience but genius and give us poor little ones magical wines for fancy prices. Believe this ?? O.K. come in and become a member of the flat earth society.

This one stands head and shoulders above all "simple" Bourgognes tasted recently. There is a sound marriage between wood and fruit, I had feared too much wood because of their preference for high toast oak. It has depth and complexity and a nice finish. My online retailer has now sold it for 9 €, he has lowered significantly prices on 2008 and 2007, because this are not "stellar" vintages. What had I missed in the last years if I had relied on Vintage Charts.

If Domaine Bize would be a stock and me an analyst I would recommend it a "Strong Buy". Astonishing quality through the whole range and vintages. This one with very lovely pinot fruit and nice acidity, tannin silky, long finish. 2006 from Beaune are now at a very good point to drink.

Very good Cazetiers for a moderate price, paid 39 €. Typical 2006, accessible, straightforward fruit, good acidity, smooth tannins, not the gratest depth and complexity but very very good. Had no disappointments with 2006 recently, think most are very good drinking now.
