Bought it to try an older Purple Hands wine. Not up to the depth and quality of 2015 onwards.

Decanted briefly. Good fruit, complex, soft tannin, a pleasure. (Remaining part of bottle didn't hold up two days later.)

Much better on day 2; so it needed more breathe time than we gave it. First day, no cohesion of the fruit, tannins, and oak. Later, a nice Bordeaux style blend from Napa, with complexity and balance. Held up well against strong flavored foods but soft enough to just drink.

More depth and softer than most SBs. Though all on new Cadus oak, this can be drank now and will hold up.

Even in 2018, this has not gone down hill. The chocolate overtones remain the big issue in food pairing.

At 13 yrs old, this wine still tastes young. Lots of fruit and complexity. Needed a decant (or aeration).

Pleasant, but just not enough complexity or depth to match the price. I'm generally a fan of nk'mip wines, but this fell short.

Mostly dark flavors, like chocolate and tar. Even at 8 years, the tannins are still firm as well as good fruit. Will hold up for several more years. Put against strongly flavored and/or spicy foods.

Wonderful even on day 3 against strong food. Great color, moderate body. Enough fruit to balance the high alcohol. Touches of chocolate and leather. Not cheap, but worth it.
