  • Dark color and a masculine wine. If blind you would not guess Chambolle , but a Worldclass wine. Big and for sure better in 5 years time , but it did very well. That evening it was the second best after La Tasche ‘08 from DRC

  • Clear medium ruby colour, slightly paler rim, yputhfull.

Nose is clean, medium+ intense aromas of kirch, leather, essense, wild strawberry, raw red fruit with incredible concentration, youthfull

Palate is dry, medium+ acidity, medium %, medium+ body and flavour intensity, aromas of raw kirch juce, morelles, young and fresh, looong finish

Very well balanced, extreme concentration and lenght, intense (dont think i have experienced this level of intensity on 12.5% alcohol), not very complex yet, but it will come. Amazing quality, 94p

  • It was deep, dense and ferrous. There were complex savoury notes mixing it up with luscious black cherry fruit. It had real power, depth and drive.

  • Yearly tasting event with Jean Luc Pépin from Domaine Comte George de Vogüé and Swedish importer hosting and presenting the wines from the about to be released vintage (2014) from Bonneau de Martray and Comte George de Vogüé (with some reference older vintages served to compare).
This is always a personal highlight tasting event.
The nose of the 2014 Bonnes Mares are almost as light and airy as in the Les Amoureuses, but with slightly more soil present than in the wines from more southern vineyards , and with more and darker cherry fruit along with perfumed red flowers and some fine underbrush.
Still, somewhat lighter and airier, more transparent nose than usual.
The palate is very deep and balanced, with juicy ripe red berries, energetic but also silky, with spicy pomegranates, red cherries and lovely dark raspberries.
Spicy soil and minerals too on the finish, with a super fine and cleansing acidity.
    Exceptional depth, length and balance.
96 + tonight, but will reach higher, needs time.
This is so good, and I really adore Vogué’s Bonnes Mares.
    (96+ – 98+)
