A bit delayed on this note and so committing from memory and the scratch pad. Tasted '08 and '95 side by side and first Vogue run in. '95 obviously in a very different state of development to the '08, but provides some hope for younger vintages. The nose on the '95 was quite big and attractive with a good mix of primary and secondary characteristics, but falls off rather quickly. The palate didn't really have staying power I would expect from a top parcel. I would suspect this is most enjoyable as small bottle pours vs. large glasses that sit and aerate for a while. Similar to the '08, not the best QPR
Nose: 91-92 Palate: 90

Opened with a nose of barnyard and sweatsox, blew off in about 15 minutes, nose of mushroom, sweet and sour fruit, black cherry, black berry, and hints of briar, 40 minutes into the tasting, the nose was the same but more floral, on the palate, rich, brooding, big body, very tasty, continued to improve throughout the luncheon, long finish, photo uploaded, compared to the 1997 Bouchard Bonnes Mares, it was masculine, darker, deeper but not as rich nor as elegant. If well cellared-this cork saturated only 5%, then easily last another 8 years, at peak, enjoy now.

Took it' sweet time to open, but when it did ... ; tell tale Bonnes Mares, fruit somewhat dark, has real matter, plenty of Pinot feel, good spice - and great potential. Still young. #Peytz #Jean-LucPepin

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting, in 08/02/95 vertical. Dense and mature mostly black fruit with slightly sweet hints. Very rich. Another successful 1995 Chambolle.

The Verticals Tasting at 2020 La Paulée de New York (Eventi Hotel, New York): Youthful harsh, dry feel with an overabundance of green elements. I don't think this is going anywhere good; the balance and flesh just are not there. Clumsy like many '95's.
