  • Restaurant note. Not sure, but I believe 1 hour decant. Spicy oak, algae, bright young red fruit, vanilla, very young. After 3+ hours red rasberry and black tea. While clearly a really good wine- it needs several more years to approach potential and will last a long time.

  • Very good, but still in early drinking window. A little red fruit, a bit of asian spice, tannic spine and a lot of muscle.

  • Vanilla oak and still a bit closed. Even after an hour it was still just starting to unfurl its wonderful sweet and slightly sour cherry fruits.
I suspect this wine needed at least 5 hours of air to do it justice or at least another 5 years in the bottle.

  • Youthful all around starting with the robe. This has a very long life ahead of it. If you’re drinking this you’ll definitely want to decant. Will improve with more age as the oak is still integrating believe it or not.

  • Nose: bubble gum, red flower, hints of hawthorn berry, red fruits, herbs, cherry
Notes: beautiful flowers and bubble gum nose. Rather balanced and harmonious palate. Coming from a legendary vintage of the 90s I do believe this wine has a long road ahead of it despite its readiness now. Drank after breathing in the bottle for 1 hour. This is certainly a great demonstration of Bonnes Mares and Vogue at the same time, with excellent fragrance yet a solid and muscular structure plus a chewy texture to the wine. Once it passes the 1.5 hours cherry and dark fruit aromas begin to come up. Quite a change of style has appeared and I am pleasantly surprised that the lively and lighter red fruits aroma and palate has evolved into a feast of cool, dark fruits. Although I have no objection that this is an extremely complex and pleasant wine but I would have a bit of reservation on the finesse and elegance of it.

(Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes-Mares) Medium-plus cherry-red. The nose has a little oak-toast and shows a much more savoury and spicy edge than the other wines, the fruit has a blacker edge too. The spice is also there on the palate, in-fact it currently defines the wine more than the fruit. A completely different expression to the others, it shows impressive though primary density and balanced structure - more so than the 99 Amoureuses - different, but very interesting.
