Mainly Vosne and Chambolle GCs: Very green and medicinal so clearly was a '04 or '11. Ripe blue fruit but the herbaceous nature of the wine made this borderline undrinkable for me. Didn’t get a chance to revisit but apparently got better with air.

This was the surprise of the evening with its musty brambly nose of cherries and crushed strawberries, this started a little tart on the palate but rounded out very nicely after sometime in the glass. Great structure but started to give way a little towards the end of the evening prob due to the weaker vintage. This gave a lot of pleasure, was incredibly expressive and really RE awakened me to this appalation and maker.

PnP. Brick to brown color. Initially, there is a ton of savory/rustic components on the nose. Dill, wet earth, dried flowers, dried cranberry/cherry. Fully integrated on the palate, there’s medium body, bright acidity and low tannin. The fruit is there but seems like it’s fading. My gut tellls me this needs to be consumed within the next few years before the fruit fades any further. Good stuff but a little disappointed here. Hoping it will blossom over the next few hours. Edit: this opened up nicely. It remained rustic on the nose but the flavor profile developed. Still, i think this is on the decline.

(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares) Dark red violet color; odd, sassafras, green bell pepper, asparagus, green bean and onion nose; tart cherry and tobacco palate with chunky green notes, disjointed, with high acidity and harsh tannins; medium finish (possibly flawed, as another bottle tasted some months earlier was much better)
(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares) Medium light red color; big, sweet cherry nose with vanilla; ripe red fruit, cherry and spice palate with sweet oak; medium-plus finish 92+ pts.

Pronounced nose intensity with notes of red fruits, spices, toast, truffle, mushroom. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannin. Long finish.

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.
Red dates and cherries, signature angelica roots. Medicinal and ginseng notes.
Superbly integrated. Slightly dusty. Very much minerality driven. Good clean finish and very classic.
94 points.
Second round: more strawberry and vanilla notes. Very much mature and very well integrated now. Upgrade to 94-95 points.
