Opened and thought it would be a repeat from late. 2021. Was pleasantly surprised as tannins and heat had relaxed. Light menthol on the back end, and muted fruit on the front end. But spice notes, some forest floor and and light coca cam through - mores after being opened for a day or two. Nice finish that was was very smooth

Needa a LOT of air. Very primary and tannic, i would have guessed a newly bottled vintage had I not opened it myself. Poured 3 small sips to sample then left open on the table for 2 hrs. Finally came around and paired well with beef short rib. Needed food for sure. Will be another 15 yes before this can be drank without pairing. But a great wine, typical mayacamas style.

Still disappointing. Not only for the price, but just in general. Some have argued that this vintage still needs some time, but I'm not sure I have that much time to wait. Guess I'll leave the last bottle I have alone until someone can convince me otherwise.

Drank over one hour after a short decant. As other reviewers have commented, the flavor profile is still muted and flavors are primary. Still a great wine, but it needs more time.

Medium plus intensity on the nose with black cherry, black plum, raspberry, mint, crushed rocks, red currant , earth and graphite.
Pronounced on the palate with dried fruit coming through. High acidity / tannins / alcohol, full body, medium finish.
Good intensity and complexity but lacking length with the desirable flavours dropping off the palate relatively quickly, leaving the tannins and acidity. Disappointing after the insane finish of the 2012 from the same tasting.
