For a 37 year old wine, this provides an amazing overall experience. Tertiary flavors with fruits that are still bright and a wine that is fully alive. It was everything I had hoped for from this bottle. Minimal sediment. Cork in good shape for its age. If tasted blind I'd have called it a first growth Bordeaux.

Still fresh with lots of life left. Cassis, dark red fruit, leather, pencil shavings, tobacco, slight eucalyptus. Integrated tannins and medium+ acid. Lovely and drinking at peak.

I really liked this wine as I wasn't expecting a beautiful old Napa wine; however, it really stunned. Some pine forest floor notes, red fruit, cigar box and a nice rounded finish.

Beautiful color that shows no sign of fading. The bouquet is full of flowers - roses, violets, and an almost cloying flowery sweetness. Some red fruit undertones on the nose as well, but the flowers are simply amazing. A very brief smoky note on the front palate. Red fruits(notably raspberry), rose petals, black pepper. The finish is a little acrid, but everything else is excellent. 92 - and if I could grade the nose only I would give it a 98. I brought this to drink with Yann Nury at his place in NYC.

BLACK CHERRIES IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. NOT UP TO PREVIOUS MAYACAMAS VINTAGES AND VERY INCONSISTENT. SECOND TASTING HAD LIGHT FRUIT & ACID. GREAT VARIABILITY BETWEEN BOTTLES (78-92).
