  • <detail pending> Perfumed nose and medium body on an elegant wine which fades in a few hours.

  • This was great. Quite savory aroma with lots of bell pepper. Fine, fruit-driven palate, still so young, and a layer of creamy oak. Prominent menthol cooling effect.

  • Had with Thanksgiving dinner. Typical Bordeaux profile, with a medium length finish and integrated tannins. Very nice, but not a lot of complexity at the moment and was mostly primary with just a hint of aged characteristics. I definitely see how some reviewers said this skewed a bit more modern than other vintages of GPL. Perfectly fine to drink now (we decanted for 4 hours) but probably best to forget about these in the cellar for another decade.

  • Impressive restraint and balance in this warm vintage. Tobacco, cedar, cassis, graphite, and just hints of forest floor. Healthy charge of tannins on the finish ensuring that this will have a long life ahead. Needs some more time to shed some of its youthful exuberance but great with food now. Beautiful expression of Pauillac - it has the balance of elegance and power that the best wines from this region display. Who needs Lafite? Especially when I can get 12 bottles of GPL en primeur for the price of one bottle of Lafite!

  • A beautiful modern classic - cassis and dark fruits, a touch of pencil lead, blonde tobacco and nicely integrated vanilla. Deep, juicy, fresh, lifted with some smooth-grained but grippy tannins. Suave and classic. Entering a lovely window and a lovely (relatively good value) expression of Pauillac.
