the last bottle of the case....creamy, pineapple, pear, anise nose - all very clean. Plushness and fresh fruit with enough of the necessary acid, given the sweetness of the fruit. This has integrated all the oak and aged (barely) beautifully with only hint of butterscotch in the empty glass.

This wine was in perfect shape with a fine green gold colour and a rich nose of yellow peach and nectarines, green apples, touches of honey and lashings of oatmeal. The palate is rich and flavoursome with lovely fruit and oatmeal leading into a strong grippy mineral finish to provide balance. Ultimately this will always be a rich, borderline exotic product of the vintage but its delicious when oxidation does not rear its unpleasant head !

Great wine experience. 375ml but great cork and wine presented fresher than expected with just a little warm gold developing. Up front buttery and honey but then with a surprising Chablis like tight mineral finish. Fresh, good fruit. Really lovely wine experience here.

Slightly deeper gold than ideal with an initial nose of white peach, pear, lemon, oats and almond. There is a touch of bruised apple and caramel that sends a warning and this follows through onto the palate which while having a good density of orchard fruit and a lovely weight and drive still tells me this is a fragile wine affected somewhat by premox. Overall a good drink particularly with the grip and drive but it should be so much better.

Unfortunately this bottle was like getting hit in the head with an oak two by four plank. Pop n pour and we gave it time and for about 15 minutes it seemed to improve with the palate out performing the nose but then it took a dive for the oak over the fruit and it was undrinkable imho. Sent it packing and opened the 2006 Corton Charlegmagne from the same producer and this wine was a rocking!!

First Growths at Capital Grille (Capitalle Grille, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes plus. This came at a bit of an awkward point, but just in time for my lobster bisque. That pairing work well. The sherry in the bisque cut through the cream and gave some acid that worked well with the oak and youth of the wine. There is still plenty of youthful oak on both the nose and palate that needs to evolve a bit further to make this truly great - something that I think will yet happen. Lemon toasted oak, good texture. 91+ to 9pts.

From a half bottle. This was just killer. Interestingly, Bouchard used a composite cork instead of a real one, perhaps to stave off pre-mox. I had recently had a 2002 of this wine which was nice but a bit oxidized and a little boring. This wine was very different and certainly not pre-moxed. It had an incredible nose of white stone fruits - nectarines and peaches, along with tart apple, citrus notes, some floral aspects, and a little bit of honey/tropical fruit. You could keep your nose in the glass all night and marvel. The palate was really intense with zesty acidity, and stone fruit and citrus notes. I enjoyed the power of the wine, but the alcohol and intensity made the wine feel heavy and I could see some finding it too much. Also, the palate was still somewhat tight, and I think a bit of age will lengthen the finish and may or may not bring out a bit more finesse. Aside from the over-intensity, the only other thing keeping this wine meriting a higher scores was that better White Burgundies also evolve over the night. This wine, though singing an incredible tune, was a one hit wonder.

A wonderful wine at a wonderful stage. Beautiful transparent gold color, suave oily, but light texture. On the nose honey, nutty, flowery, mineral, citrus indeed and the waves of aromas goes on and on... On the palate, a huge pleasure wraps up and coats the palate with its wonderful texture. Compare to the Perriere, which is right next to the Genevriere, it had more roundness and more honeyed back end, as Perriere had more fresh back bone. Very interesting to compare, albeit one month apart, and both of them providing superb pleasure. If you can find it, grab the whole case~ Cheers,

Light yellow. Beautiful Meursault, nose of light citrus and minerals. In the mouth: very light sweet pears & peaches and Immediately offset with balanced acidity, leading to good structure and balance with a long, long finish. Perfect match to lobster tails, prosciutto wrapped baby asparagus and side salad. From the cellar.

Med yellow. NO oxidation here.... apple fruit, pineapple and anise. This has a rich honey flavoured texture, supported by the excellent acid. Reviewing my notes for this wine over the past several years, it has gone from a light and lively tutti-frutti drink into this maturing nectar.

No oxidization here. My last two bottles. Just as pleasant as I remember it from a year ago. The wine is quite similar on the nose an palate - Flowery, green apples and honey in a somewhat delicate, well balanced combination. Just what I wanted for a Sunday lunch in great company of friends.

Medium yellow. Nose of citrus (lemon plus more tropicals as it opened) and hints of vanilla with slight oak. Beautiful balance throughout. Mineral finish with just enough acid to go on and on. This was paired with fresh ahi tuna, grilled medium rare (at home) with baby asparagus on the side. Terrific dinner, great Meursault. Not a hint of premox.

light yellow. Wet stone, mineral nose with hints of vanilla and light tropical fruit. Needs 10-20 minutes to really open: in the mouth very clean and nicely balanced. A bit of glycerin/oil that quickly blends with good acid. Crisp but balanced and modest lemon, lime and maybe some pineapple per my wife. Then ends with a 20+ second finish that went so well with a grilled pork tenderloin. First bottle from case purchased at release. No hints of pre-mox so we are going to hit this hard for a while. Essentially just delicious. A touch ripe in keeping with 05. But still quite pure and focused. Oak perfectly integrated, not sticking out at all. Oily and nutty and hints of tropical fruit but still bright and fresh. Effortless, perfectly balanced and quite long. Still youthful and undoubtedly better in 5 years but perfectly enjoyable now. Even drunken now under the specter of premox, this is a great wine at a fair price and this was a very easy bottle to drain.

Pale yellow, climbing up the glass (13.5%). Definite cedar as well as lemon on the nose. Citrus acidity on initial tasting, with flavours of kumquat, peach and lime. Oak and citrus on the finish with a length of 25 secs. This will improve for several years and the honey may well come through. Slightly austere at present, but splendid.
