-- popped and poured -- -- tasted next to the 2019 vintage of the same over a few hours --
NOSE: the '19 was brighter, and more Sauv. Blanc-esque, than the '17; minty fennel note here, as opposed to the fuzzy limey mineral note on the '19.
BODY: light green-yellow color (tad darker on the '17, as expected); medium-light bodied.
TASTE: medium+-to-high acidity on both; '17 is bassier than the '19; 12.0% alc. is well-hidden on both; preferred the brighter, zippier, '19, but both were quite enjoyable.

Almost no fruit, minerals and a hint of fennel. No surprises there, being a Muscadet. I wouldn’t go so far saying this wine is overrated because it costed me only 14€ a bottle, but the Instagram cred of this wine might lead you to expect something extraordinary. 3rd and last bottle.

Popped and poured. I’d have to say this was good rather than great. So, just a bit of a disappointment. Nothing technically wrong with it, certainly had varietal character but didn’t knock my socks off like I thought it would. 5-12-15-8: 90/100.

6th bottle from a full case, last consumed 5 mos ago. This was placed in a white wine tasting at the first wine, showing minerality and chalkiness with a whisper of citrus fruits, as compared to the other white wines that had more heft, richer fruit, oak influence etc. The Briords is a go-to sushi and seafood wine for me and my friends, I love this wine and buy it by the case every vintage or two. Chalk, seashells, lime juice and the ocean wind, this lighthearted yet seriously simple wine is dreamy to me. Will likely drink nicely through 2028+ or so.

Perfect as ever. Some sort of unripe apple notes initially. Almost like a Champagne. Plenty of white pear and citrus. Loads of ozone and minerals. Wet pavement...you get the picture. Loads of acid that's never tart. Wish I had more of this vintage. It's still in that youthful window.

This seems quite generous compared to how my last note reads. Maybe that one had an issue. This shows lots of Bosc pear along with hints of ripe pineapple. The palate shows something of a chalky feel. Generous acidity of course. Never tart while a bit mineral. Consistent over three nights. Still a terrific wine for the money.

Dry, clean, citrus, salinic minerality. On the second day you do get some bready notes from the yeast, kind of like what you get from good champagne. Overall, my perfect type of wine for raw oysters.

Floral nose with a mineral tail. The palate carries more of a straight up raw lemon juice feel. Focused acids. Like a knife. I think this vintage lacks a bit of fruit heft in comparison to others. It's not thin. Just medium for this wine. I'm sure it's good this way for another couple years which is all I will give it, if that. These wines hold over time great but I prefer the mineral showcase they are when young versus the softer version that shows up with age.

My first Briords and definitely the finest Muscadet I have ever had.
Just wonderful saline/stone quality on the nose with a light grassiness and some stone fruit, melon, and perhaps even a little mango. Acidity is perfect, with more racy, ethereal minerality on the palate and a touch of creamy structure from the lees. Nice fresh lemon/lime finish. I've read it can age beautifully and it certainly seems like it some stuffing to hold but for me, happy to have opened it now.
My first of these, and a survivor. Forgot about it in the freezer 2-3 days ago and it totally froze. Haven’t found the cork yet. But just what it should be. Light straw. Lots of brightness, mineral, honeydew with a bit of lemon. Seems like a ripe vintage.

Really enjoyed this with fish tacos. The usual blend of lemon curd, briny notes, and leesy richness that I love so much with the Briords. Maybe lacking that extra intensity and weight of some of the best vintages (e.g., 2014), this is still a fine, middleweight rendition of what is still one of the great white wine values on Earth.

Clear, pale white wine and lemony in colour. On the nose you get pronounced apple and cirus fruits with some dairy notes owing to the wine being ‘sur lie’ . On the palate, its dry, light bodied and has a moderately high and refreshing level of acidity, together with flavours of apples and citrus fruits. It has a slightly creamy textured mouthfeel. It has a good, medium length finish. A very nice, refreshing white wine that pairs well with seafood.

Pear, green apple, and lemon citrus, with slight salinity on the medium finish, with good acidity. As always, this is an excellent value, although it's a little simpler in this vintage than some previous ones.

Really great QPR. Had a wonderful density and mouthfeel to it that I don't usually associate with Muscadet but all the usual fresh flavors: lemon, saline etc. I understand why this is considered a standard bearer for the region.

P&p at cellar temp; quite enjoyable right out of the bottle. Seems like a relatively lean vintage, with saline/marine and stony mineral character front and center, together with a good dose of lemon/lime juice, and herbaceous accents, sort of hoppy and minty. Excellent transparency and definition, and just plain tasty. Not much change overnight (stored in the fridge).

Smells like Briords. Slate, steel, seaspray, limes, and citrus pith. Precise and chiseled intensity like 2014. A bit of breadth and ripe citrus with subtle undertones of apricot and almond on the back palate that reminds me of 2015. Probably the best qpr on the planet.

This wine simply oozes minerality. The nose has plenty of flint and chalk and an engaging scent of citrus blossom. The palate has an echo of lemon fruit and is quite stony. It is cool and precise with good texture and a bone-dry finish.

My first of this wine and producer, and I haven’t had much Muscadet at all to be fair. That said I am impressed with this wine, at the fair price that it is sold. Easily chuggable and thirst quenching upon opening, although in an appetizing, mineral and yeasty sense, it really came arter a couple of days in the fridge. Pears and lime zest, bursting with minerals and slightly autolytical, this paired deliciously with a manchego cheese.

Two bottles, drank at the beach out of plastic cups. Not ideal tasting conditions, but another good year for Briords: full of lemony citrus and crackling oceany mineral. Goes down easy while leaving an impression.

Lovely vintage of Briords. Everything just as it should be. Goes down far too easily. Even better after a night in the fridge when the citrus, salinity and minerality were amped up further.

Pear, green apple, and lemon citrus, with slight salinity on the medium finish, with good acidity. As always, this is an excellent value, although it's a little simpler in this vintage than some previous ones.

Tart fruit (strong lemon, citrus, slight apple), salinity, strong minerality, slight herb, bright acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

Perhaps a bit more straightforward than previous bottles. Delicious, but lacked the layering and nuance of previous bottles.

Wine Tasting Group - No Theme - Apr. 13, 2019 (Classic Dallas): PnP. Tart apples and lemon with tons of minerals and hints of herbs. Saline, mineral on the back end with just enough bitterness to add further complexity to a lovely finish.

So deep, broad, balanced, layered. Yet perfumed. More muscular than delicate right now. Such a good wine.

Really great QPR. Had a wonderful density and mouthfeel to it that I don't usually associate with Muscadet but all the usual fresh flavors: lemon, saline etc. I understand why this is considered a standard bearer for the region.

12.0% - Clear, med to light lemon / clean, med+ intensity - lemon rind, meyer lemon, shellfish, freshly cut cucumbers, light spicy notes as it gets closer to room temp / dry, high racy acidity, med to light body, med+ intensity, med to long finish. Beautiful with sucked oysters as usual! Definitely a Chablis 1er cru quality level!

Popped and poured. Lemon and tangerine aroma. Saline flavors of citrus, slate. Full, complex finish includes lemon mousse, stone fruit, minerals.
Young and a little shy, but already packed with rich flavors, with an iron backbone (of course) and a vibrant finish. Strong hold.

Popped and poured. Easily the best $17 white one can buy. Very close to the '14 which, for me, was my favorite vintage of this wine. Rocks, ocean, lemon zest, chalk, and the precision of the 14. Terrific! 92pts.

IMO, a lesser vintage of Briords. That said, still nicely crisp on the palate, and quite enjoyable to drink.

Another look at this vintage. Pale yellow in the glass, with a crisp, minerally nose.
Tart white fruits and ample acidity - not bad at all.

Two bottles, drank at the beach out of plastic cups. Not ideal tasting conditions, but another good year for Briords: full of lemony citrus and crackling oceany mineral. Goes down easy while leaving an impression.

All primary, pear-like, yeast-driven aromatics at the moment. Dense ripe fruit with baby fat hiding the structure. Promising, but hands off for the next year at least.
