All sorts of baking yeast and flour on the nose - delicious blend of powdered flour and apple on the palate, still has a crisp finish; outstanding for the price.

From magnum. Served at L&K's farewell party in Corona. Nearing the end of its life's arc, having lost much of its fruit and freshness. Aromas and flavors of grilled toast and roasted nuts with a nice lemon zest vein that brings up the finish. Pinpoint beads and no browning. Drink 'em if you've got 'em.

Opened a 3 Liter of this at a fundraiser. It was gone before any of the other wine. It had excellent balance. No aftertaste. Very smooth. I'm glad I have another 3L.

Made from Camp Schramsberg, dosage of 14g. Just enough of a hint of fruit for the crowd to like it, not too sweet for the bubbles geeks. Could have gone years and years.

Straw appearance, fine, active bead. Vibrant nose of green apples, quince, Meyer lemons, zesty lime, and marshmallow cream. Vigorous, tangy, and long, with mouthwatering flavors, excellent balance, and a fine, fluffy foam that feels like cotton candy in the mouth. Closes with a crisp, juicy, well-sculpted, mineral-inflected finish that lasts. A lights out effort.

Med gold colour; toasty biscuit notes with baked apple, lovely definition and purity, complex and enticing; much riper on the palate which gives away it's origins, lovely flavour though. Nutty, macadamia on the finish.

When you get too much power without depth...it's a slap in the face. I was so disappointed... The only facet of a cheap sparkling wine that this didn't have was a foul smell. Just to make sure you know I have some perspective; I have had 7 sparkling wines/champagnes in the last two weeks... all were less than $40 and all were heads and shoulders better than the Schramsberg.

Serious wine, opened (and sold!) too young. Serious, ripping acidity, but with a body to match. A lithe wine but one that will flesh out in a few years. Great apple and rising bread nose, some orange and lemon pithiness, hint of lime, mostly very appley.

Closed nose. Great flavor on the palate: Granny Smith apple dominating with an under-layer of wild flower honey. Really nice crispness comes through. Excellent finish - very long and continuing crispness, with the Granny Smith tones mingling with a hint of key lime.

Much more approachable than the 09' tasted a couple weeks ago. Paint polish and red apple flesh on the nose. Supple texture, perked up with tart and sweet citrus flavors. Finishes well with good intensity and medium to long persistence. Will wait a couple years before opening another.

This has a pale yellow color with slightly yeast aroma but strong fruit of grape, lemon, grapefruit. It is fruity but crisp and steely with a broad mixture before transition into a dry finish.

Plenty of small and lively bubbles. The nose is clean and medium in intensity. Beautiful aromas and flavors of pear, lemon and grapefruit. This is supposed to be a Brut, but i swear there's some residual sugar left on the palate. The acidity is medium plus, the alcohol is medium to medium minus at only 12.7%. There is a nice streak of minerality on the medium long finish. This is a very elegant and well-made wine which keeps you coming back for more. Drink now. I don't see that it is really going to get much better with age.

This is wonderful bubbly. yeasty, clean, pear and citrus but not too intense. I do not generally like champagne/bubbly but I love this. Nice small bubbles, delicate with fruit yet dry. Absolutely great! If you are looking for big and bold, this is not your drink, but for refined and refreshing I could drink this all day unfortunately!

Lots of yeast on the nose, more citrus on the palate. We like bold wines, and this filled the bill perfectly. Bought for an anniversary toast, and would get it again in a heartbeat.

Straw color with loads of small effervescent bubbles. Big, "in your face" yeasty and toasty nose; not the least bit subtle in style. Good fruit with citrus and apple flavors. Good, clean finish. Not exactly my style, but for many I'm sure this is nirvana.

Light gold. Fine bubbles. Nose or yeast, smoke, apple, & pear. Ripe, crisp palate with apple, pear, and some tropical fruit. Silky, creamy texture. Excellent length. Mouthwatering acidity. Great hand-made American sparkler.

Green Apple on the bottom of the cork after opening. Honey, pear and pineapple as the fruits on the palate. Acidity was a bit on drier side, but expected for this type of champagne. Love the little bubbles. There is just something about the integrity of a chardonnay designed to be a well made champagne. Great holiday starter!

PnP. Medium straw color, fine, lively bead. Brioche, golden apples, acacia, wet pebbles. A mouthful of orchard fruit is supported by generous acids. The tension between acid and fruit could stand a little more harmony, but that is likely a function of its youth. Really bright, really fresh. A lovely effort that offers no subtlety - exactly what we were in the mood for when we opened it. An excellent value. Drink thru 2016, 12,7% abv, score: B+/A-

New Years Eve Bubbly (Farpointe Cellar): Apple and tropical fruit on the nose, with roasted nuts and beeswax in the middle, and some baked bread at the end. Tart on the palate, with lots of lime and green apples. It has some honey roasted nuts on the mid-palate, and finishes with beeswax.

Bright straw. Infinitely, miniscule bead. Sports a beam of green apple supported by a taut structure that highlights crisp, green fruit, almonds, and wisps of minerality. The creamy texture is balanced by juicy acidity. Really good.

Full straw color with fine, moderately aggressive bubbles. Nose: green apple, lemon/lime, and grapefruit with white flowers, lightly honeyed biscuit, and nutmeg/cinnamon spice. Medium body and a fine, rich mousse on the palate: more green apple and lemon/lime fruit with white flowers, yeast/lees, citrus peel, and roasted nuts. Aggressive acidity. Lingering yeast/lees, roasted nuts, and citrus peel on the moderate/long dry finish. Tightly-wound structure with intense flavors and graceful texture. A lot going on under the surface, but drinking a little young right now. Give it 3-5 years in the cellar to open up and develop.
