2 1/2 hour decant which really smoothed out the tannins. The wine after this time was very soft and elegant in the approach. Back end was the same with no grip. It was very jammy with blackberries present with a soft oak finish.

Tasted side by side with a 11-year older Left Bank Bordeaux, which might come off as an unfair comparison, but nonetheless, both wines show immense quality in the stages they’re in. Deep ruby in the glass. Aromas of sweet spice, thyme, rosemary, capsicum, blackcurrant, blackberry. Full-bodied, high acidity, high alcohol, high tannins. All blasting on full volume. Long finish. Young, but great aging potential. Hold this for 10-15 years. Great expression of the purity Napa Valley can deliver.

This was quite good. Entry had some character to it with notes of dark fruit, blueberry jam, plum, and garden herbs. Finish was earthy with a subtle leather note. The tannins were pronounced at approx. the 3h mark post open. I imagine this will continue to improve over the years, hard to see what the upside will be.

Only brief notes. I loved this. New world Napa ripeness wrapped in a really tight tannic core. Definitely all fruit right now. So primary but great balance.

Wonderful smooth bottle, great with red meat and on its own.
