  A wonderfully aged Bordeaux that has all the hallmarks of an even longer life ahead. Ever so tiny bricking on rim but the fruity core is strong and robust. Chocolate mid palate with a lasting finish. Had over crackers and cheese with Katie and Tim.

  WCC 2004 California Cab Blind Tasting (Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY): One of those wines that seems well made and impressive but not really enjoyable. Plenty of black fruit and oak here, but not a lot of complexity otherwise and rather charmless.

  WCC 2004 California Cab Blind Tasting (Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY): [Double decanted all at 1:00 PM, recorked at 5:00 PM.] Smoky black currant nose. This is still young, but already long and complex. Seems a little more Bordeaux-like than the previous wines. I suspect this isn't 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

  Amazing bottle of wine. Sampled with other exquisite bordeaux and bordeaux blend wines that night and this easily won WOTN. Still, black inky color with tremendous nose of black cherries, rose, liquorice, toast and jasmine perfume. Mouthfeel was light, ephemeral like a pomerol without the weight. Tannins were there, barely, yet the fruit was not heady or over bearing. Earth notes of forrest floor and graphite, cherry and other black frutis, but VELVET smooth. Long lasting finish that waffted through the back palate and into the nose. Tremedous wine

  This may have been a bad bottle or a storage issue, but this wine was very disappointing. Even over the course of several hours it never amounted to much. Nose and palate were bland. Occasional hints of menthol but nothing of note. Mostly just tired tasting and a little sad.
