(Chateau Pape Clement Pessac Leognan Graves) #1; COLOR-medium; NOSE-great Old World nose; really great sour cherry coming through; little cedar and Asian spice; great classic Bordeaux nose; can tell that there's some age behind this; PALATE-has some really fantastic tannins on the back-end that are really quite subtle; a little cherry and cedar coming through; extremely elegant; this is not a big, massive wine; getting great balance and elegance; medium weight; this is so darn drinkable; CLASSIC in every fashion; just delicious; I can't get over the elegance; some subtle pencil shavings and metallic aspect; has a great finish; will easily last another 5-15 years; should evolve nicely in next 5-8 years; this wine is showing extremely well; ST-90; RP-90; WS-90; GV-91/92

Tobacco and spices to begin with. It breathes up to show dried bak choy, blackberries and Chinese herbs. The palate is harmonious with silky tannins and good length. The finish is slightly dry.

From DMG. Took a moment to open up then showed lovely tertiary notes, dark fruit. I felt that the bottle had very light TCA but most people at the table liked it and could not detect it. What I liked the least were the slightly dry tannins that often cloud the 1995

Spectacular well aged Bordeaux. Great nose with dark fruit, sweet tannins, layers of secondary and tertiary note, long finish. Has it all and plenty of life left.
