Deceptively simple wine - drunk over 2 nights, the 2nd being much better than the first. It's easy to judge it as just a straightforward chardonnay with not much complexity, but I think that might be doing a disservice.
Little hints of citrus and peach are there, a beautiful mouthfeel, quite full and rich, very long and lingering finish. I really enjoyed it.
I expect this wine will continue to improve with age

No 2, a hint of bread, petrol, cheese. Greenish, grassy on the palate. Medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body. low perfume on the palate. Neutral. Old world. Some bayleaves. (Chablis?) no, it is a Penfolds!

My notes have this as coming from Tasmania, 8 months on French oak, 70% new, and the overall impact suggests this or Adelaide Hills rather than an SA blend.
Light oak notes with white fruit aromas
Early light acidity on palate, lightly creamed texture; dry butterscotch and white fruit suggest Meursault+. Long and lingering
Good but pricey

Pleasant but a little simple. Certainly not white Grange. Not great, let alone a national icon. Anyhow, it offers a little green acidity then incongruously a little butter on the finish.
