The 2016 Léoville Poyferré hasn't budged much in the 5 years since I last tasted it, not that that's a problem. This is quiet on the nose but beautifully expansive in the mouth, full of blueberry and blackberry, a mineral salinity, and a touch of potpourri.
Both primary and drinking well, this is a beautiful wine. With time in the glass, this went from pure fruit to some hints of what is to come, while exhibiting an elegance and creaminess that suggests there is much more to come.

Sweet, oh sweet oak. Very much Poyferre , Crushed cherry liqueur and touch of vanilla in the glass. A French silver oak with some oomph. The tannins are so drying, and the finish pretty long. Love this wine, a great vintage too.
