Barrel tasting at Domaine Pierre Damoy (Gevrey Chambertin): Barrel tasting at domaine. Once again, stepping up the intensity and impressiveness -- this time the Beze vs. the Chambertin tasted just before. Hugely aromatic with intense black cherry, meat and spice. The palate is richly concentrated with bright, lifted spice throughout. The layering and detailing here is super impressive. Rich, but balanced and lively. A true wow wine. 97+ points.

11/16/2017 - PanosKakaviatos Does not like this wine:
Annual Roi Chambertin tasting: 2016 Gevreys from village to grand cru (Espace Chambertin, Bourgogne): Too tight and too oak driven. I feel it lacks enough fruit expression.
