Colour a decent reddish brown but a orangey rim. This was a pop and pour. The nose speaks Rousseau; slightly candied with strong cherry notes. On the palate initially, good weight and balance with integrated tanins and a smooth finish. Good secondary development and complexity. Unfortunately, the acidity (the sour notes) became more pronounced over the half hour, more pertinently eclipsing the fruits. This wine needs drinking up.

Rousseau Ruchottes for Pebbles (The Ledbury, London): Faded garnet to orange rim. Lovely nose, almost old Rioja, quite mellow and orangey and bright. Good Acidity, bright and long nquite light; fragrant, filigree. ****+

Perfectly mature burgundy. Fully developed flavors, no hard edges. Notes of soy and hoisin. Smoke, dark cherries, and iron. Great stuff.
