World's Greatest - Night III (Per Se): Burnt caramel and toffee nose. Pronounced smoke. No effervescence left but still has present caramel. A delicious marzipan lingers on. Obviously not perfect, but fun to taste.

We almost wrote this bottle off, as it was tired. But circling back to our glasses a couple of hours later, it was resurrected. Not brilliant, but it became interesting and certainly very drinkable.

DP, some nice white burgs, DRC GE, and 05 Dujac reds.: Basically DOA, but a few of us hardy souls tried it, and enjoyed the marzipan finish (which required not breathing as you drank it since the nose was very unattractive). A guy's gotta give his birth year a chance.

Faded overall but with some viable individual components. Steely midpalate and mildly nutty finish.

DP at Acker pre-party. (Bouley NYC): Just a touch oxidized, but I thought this bottle was great from the first sip. And my birth year as well.
