Blueberry/dark fruits on the nose, ripe but not over ripe. Spice, possibly clove and a hint of vanilla. Almost like a burnt marshmallow or popcorn thing going on, which is interesting. Juicy fruits on palate. Still some tannins with medium acidity. Better on night 2. I’ve got one bottle left which I think I will try and forget about for a few years!

maybe bottle variation, but i don’t agree with negative reviews. - cellar stored for +\- 5 yrs.
decanted about an hour, very little sediment. dark purple in. color with almost no discoloration at the edges. served with horn bbq - and - was great. i have had several times in the past few years. not the classic big shouldered lytton of the past but a damn nice wine. zin has softened and petite is showing very well through the blend big and jammy with a nice round finish. big yes - with big food - very good. it has a few years left but you will miss the the petite punching through the palate in a few. i would drink in next 12 months and serve with boisterous menu.
in my view underrated and underpriced - very well made wine with a lot of complexity, depth and nuance that only the petite can bring. - takes a degree of patience to get to - but well worth it. disregard the naysayers.

If you can wait 8-10 years, hard to find a wine this good for the price.
