This did the same thing as most of the other 100+ years old Bordeaux we've had. On opening it smells foul and (if you dare to do so) on tasting it's equally bad. After about 30 minutes it starts opening up and the most lovely soft fruit appears. 30 minutes later it's all over and the wine is dead, forever. During those 30 minutes though, you get to drink history - and enjoy it.
