This was a surprise for a weak vintage. It highlighted what a superb grower can do and it had an amazing mature nose floral and truffles with a structured palate with concentrated fruits and a finish that was mid to long.

France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/20/2013-4/23/2013 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. Served blind. Crazy nose, maturing but fairly young still. Softer structure, beautiful red fruit with medium acidic. This is why we age them. Excellent.

Burgundy Wine Club Dinner 2013 (The Breslin, NYC): Drunk next to 94 Vaucrains, and immediately and clearly showed that it is the finer terroir. Deeply pitched and complex dark primary fruit with a stone baseline. One taster said that the alcohol was a tiny bit out of whack, and at 13.5 it was a tick higher than Vaucrains. But showed lots of class, and a pure and delicious expression. Lovely, and another vote for good producers and good terroir in 94.

. A bit of balsamic fruits, v expressive nose. Aged sour cherries. A bit flowery. At it's peak. Smoothed out tannins
