Tasted double blind. This wine showed again that the 2008s are in a great spot today (but with some more upside). Nicely integrated and complete with all the classic aromas. This outshined the Rinaldi Tre Tine 2011 in the next glass thanks to a higher complexity and brighter fruit profile.
TN: Rather muted nose. On the palate lots of sweet red berries, sweet strawberries, lots of minerality, some vegetal aromas and crushed rocks, lots of them towards the finish. The complexity is high, so is the precision. Superb structural frame. The finish is endless. Gets round and softer by the minute.
Decanting: Not decanted, this could have used one or the other hour of air.

Tasted blind. A very elegant showing here. 2008 is a vintage I like in Barolo as it stay light. Beautiful aromas of clay, rose petals, menthol, cloves. Well managed tannins. 95+

Tasted blind. The expression here was quite limited as I found this wine to be closed. It was hard to find much more than red berry type of fruit with a bit of sweet accents initially. With some aeration more rose water and tar came to the fore, revealing the origin. The palate was bold with firm and somewhat coarse tannin and a lot of acidity. This may easily develop into a beauty with over the next 10-20 years, but was hard to judge.

Red fruits, cedar, crushed rocks, and earth. Pretty floral and elegant. Dry with the fruit taking a backseat to other notes. Chalky tannins still, so decant for 1 hour

puristic red fruit
endless finish, tannins and acidity are high.
very traditional, feminine barolo style, which i adore and which gives me pleasure.
very good producer, first time having it and I am looking forward discovering and tasting more of it.
