My WOTN. You cannot believe this is a 2003. Not a hint of over-ripeness--just pure elegance. Earthy nose that screams Bordeaux. On the palate, I loved the interplay of florals and red fruits. So silky. What a joy.
7th of 12, opened an hour then decanted 45 minutes, perfect cork and level - youthful robe, purple rim on first pour, dense and glossy, attractive fruit driven bouquet and palate but decent complexity and length including Branaire's chocolate marker; however after an hour fruit suddenly diminished showing a fairly coarse tannin structure, balance and fruit seemed ok initially so I left confused by this and the marking reflects early impressions with final glass more like 89-90, upside I think, 11+ years? F (17.5).

1-hour decant; light aromas of red fruit, raspberry and a chocolate note; lovely balance, slightly elevated acidity, closing with a hard-to-define but lengthy finish; very pleasing - drink up.

A semblé moins en forme que les autres bues. Sur les feuilles et la terre, un peu de cuir aussi. Du café et un peu de cerise. Le tertiaire ou un brin de réduction se font sentir. Bouteille off probablement...à revoir.

Still a lot a red fruitiness in the wine. Also the tannines are wel integrated so a balanced wine. But did not change my life. Drank 2 bottles, the last one was a lot more integrated.

(lt Branaire-Ducru) Grab Bag Dear Friends, I suppose this could have been a second Friday Special (it seems we've had two lately) or a "free for all" special but let's call it a grab bag of interesting wine, most at prices that are eye-opening indeed. All are directly from the source with perfect provenance.
