Angelica Wine Club - Mediterranean (Lot One, Potts Point): baked dark fruits, a little raspberry and currants as well. Spice, cedar, slightly meaty minerality and salinity. Juicy acidity, tight dense tannins, chalky minerality, black cherry and currant.

WSET Level 3 Session 4-6; 11/17/2014-11/21/2014 (London, UK): The wine is clear deep ruby with a few tears on the glass. The nose is clean medium plus intense with aromas of ripe red fruit, black cherries, black currant, and smoke. There is a hint of oak. The palate is dry with medium acidity and medium plus tannins. The alcohol level is high and it is full bodied with medium plus flavour intensity. The flavour characteristics are dominated by black fruit (black berry, black currant), and oak. There is some pungent spice and hints of pepper. The finish is long. The quality is good and it should be drunk now. It is not suitable for ageing or further ageing.

Very dark purple. Impressive, complex nose of cumin, corriander, ink, dark cherries, nutmeg and clove. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, medium acidity and a long aftertaste. One of this cuvee's best vintages to date.
