(50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot) Rubinrot, erste Reifetöne.

Very perfumed nose, with wafts of rose, violet and cherries, before a fresh but very smooth mouthful of red cherries and blackcurrants, leading into a rising middle section of violets and plums, then a long, elegant finish. Very Margalais in style, this could not have come from anywhere else. The tannins are silky and not at all obtrusive. Just a lovely wine, already drinking very well. Great value at 23 euros.

Pulled the cork on the bottle previously accessed by Coravin and drank over two days.
Fine perfume, quite floral, if excessively polished (modern). The palate, albeit typical and excellent, left something to be desired over both days. Specifically, many non-Classed Growth offerings deliver equal or greater quality and satisfaction for half, or less, the release cost of this Fourth Growth Margaux.
The wine should hold form for five or so years. Drink by 2030-2032.
Upon opening was greeted to a rich nose comprised of floral components and fine leather. Straight out of the bottle it was a little tight, but wanted to loosen up with each sip. Decanted over a two hour period, and served with NY steaks with summer truffles in butter, baked potato and broccolini. To start, this wine is smooth and silky. The low ABV keep it mild and tame. The tannins have enough grip to be noticeable but not overpowering. Red raspberry with sour cherry up front, but short lived, merging into cedar, graphite, and earth. The wine peaks up front, and then mellows out through the finish. I feel it leaves a little short but not thin. I nice departure from California style wine, and was enjoyable for the occasion. I would drink sooner than later, and give it 2 more years at the most in my honest amateur opinion. Would buy again.

This is my birthday dinner again. All wines are uncorkeded 2 hours in advance. Château Prieure-Lichine 2014. Agree with MOTZ. Wonderfully floral, wholly intoxicating perfume. It also featured muddle fresh berry, live herbs, and herbal tea notes. So pure, so Margaux.91 2014 Reserve Countess. It has relatively high acidity. After about 3 hours, the aroma develops and the wine becomes rich, more like Pauillac. More air would have helped. 90
