Remarkably, this wine is still in fine form after 22 years. Still not too much colour, excellent salinity and oyster shell. Won’t improve but probably still has a few years left.

In the beginning, quite a neutral Chablis. Had to wait an hour or two before the aromas really appeared. And they were typical for a Michel MdT; great salinity and minerality and hints of lemon and lychee. No oak, sleek and silky in the mouth, combined with high acidity and good concentration. This wine has many good years ahead of it.

I was once again persuaded to drink this bottle based on the comments and projected life of this wine (i.e."drink by 2006")on this site. Once again both were way off base. This wine was firmly in the sweet spot of its peak. This was a quintessential, no-oak Chablis with aromas of white flowers, stones and quince. I found the wine to have great structure and surprising depth and length. Firm and refreshing, this wine was a joy to drink.

Quince jelly! A bit thin from the mid palate thru the finish but that may be overly critical after reading John Gilman's post. Drinking very well I thought but at the same time not really impressive for a 1er cru. Not enough weight maybe. Quince, resin, and citrus make up the flavor profile. High acidity and, of course, no oak.
