Very fragreant nose of cherries and rose petals. Medium body. This is still very primary with a lot of juiciness and acidity. Flavors of cherry, damson plum, and ila touch of vanilla. There is also some subtle cinnamon and ginger. This wine needs time. i would wait at least 3 years before checking in again. There is probably a good 15 years ahead to this wine. Excellent value.

Second Sunday Group: 2015 Burgundy (Augie's): Double blind. Cherry, currant and herb notes. A bit bigger, showing a little oak. Tannic. Cherry, currant and woody tones. Finishes with some length but it's slightly disjointed. The surprise of the night for me as we have enjoyed tis quite a bit on previous occasions. Either an odd bottle or perhaps this is entering a phase, but then again, others liked it more than I.

Second Sunday Group: 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Barb's): Courtesy of A & L, popped and poured with dinner. Deep color with a lovely bouquet of purple flowers- iris and violets- along with black cherry, red berries and a Vosne-like spice. Captivating. Elegant red fruit on the palate with hints of spice on the finish. Well-balanced with a terrific mouthfeel. Well worth seeking out, and a particularly fine value <$50.

Has that thing where it is very structured and also high toned that I will often get with Jadot reds. Some woodsy, soil things. Best give this time
