  • 2010 Duck Dinner (Peter Pratt's Inn): The nose was so engaging, delicate and floral and pretty. Too bad the palate fell way short with nothing much to offer initially. Some strawberry fruit was revealed after some aeration, but this quickly evaporated. The wine was tried again halfway through the dinner and declared dead. I really loved the nose though.

  • Burgundy dinner with multiple villages wine and food pairing. Bottle, fill excellent, cork fungated on top and moved easily in the bottle, color mature. From a spotty vintage, this wine stole the show tonight. Perhaps not fair to compare it with newer vintages of Musigny, Richebourg, Clos St. Jacques etc.., but what a lovely expression of earthy, fully mature subtle wine. Maybe it was just because this wine was so ready. I could not get enough of the nose, a very complex Beaune beauty. One of my favorite sources of old style, subtle, age-worthy Beaune. Great wine.

  • Light brick. Nail polish, brush, faint fruit and orange zest. Palate is a nice surprise – seamless, mature burgundy. (89)
