First bottle of 12. Nose tells me this is a warm vineyard and a warm vintage. Youthful black red colour. Toasty cinnamon oak and the liquer cherry that I usually see in Morot wines. Rich, ripe fruited but four square. Almost Syrah like in the richness of the fruit, menthol and lack of florals. Will not rush to open another. Let’s see what 2030 brings.

Tastes way too woody and oaky; the fruit is almost totally obscured.

Standard Morot. Excellent balance, not particularly complex, dark cherry, earthy notes. Such a consistent producer.

Bad bottle. Or over the hill. But likely the former.

Quite tannic and austere.
