Color: light ruby core -> diffuse/light ruby rim with garnet/bricking. Reticent nose on PnP (perhaps too cold) of sweet cherries, mushrooms and a little leather. Palate was certainly polished -- expecting that from a Meo -- but fairly soft; it lacked the stuffing I was expecting given the producer, year and location. Good acids and moderately long finish -- while this was very, very good, I think my expectations (this was my first Meo) were perhaps a bit high. Maybe should have gone grand cru . . . .

very enjoyable. nose is a bit more muted than I would have liked and is my only criticism. nose is mushroom, straw, hay, hint of cherry. the mouthful is great - lush, fruit comes out, acidity and spice to offset the fruit. finish has tannins that are there - but not overwhelming. 14 years old - it wont get much better IMHO.

Good aroma with some muskiness, earthy mushroom, spices, funky wild leather, red cherries & raspberries. Similar profile on the palate and has a soft mouth feel, polished and lushness on overall impression. Acidity is quite high which provides the freshness as well, though the fruits are on the lean, weaker side and chances are they can't complement the structure and oakiness in the wine much longer. Soft and pleasant medium finish.

2012 - Bachelor night (Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck @ Paragon): Alcohol :: 14.5% Opened for 4hrs. Dark garnet core, light hue. Sweet core of strawberry, raspberry and plum, spices like clove and cinnamon, perfume but a little musky. Medium bodied, soft elegance mid palate with good depth, slightly straightforward but this is quite a dense wine for sure. Tannin is pretty firm and strong but seems lacks a bit of fruits for the right balance and support. Intense long finish. Not bad but not that excited as the label suggests.

Huge nose of ripe strawberries, sandalwood... Delicious crisp red ripe strawberries, sappy tannin, very nice mature pinot!!
