  • Tasted blind. The nose I felt was Rhône like - dark fruits, spice, leather. Palate dark fruits, sweet ripe cherry, some earthiness and spice on finish. Guessed Beajolais. Decent acidity and balance.

  • Bright ruby colour. Nose is typical of the region - bright red fruits, and after some time, starts to develop some depth -a touch of toasty oak. The palate reveals red currant, cranberry, sour cherry- very typical. Finish is of medium length and intensity. Day2 - this really has gained a lot of depth. This brings flavours reminiscent of strawberry and raspberry. There is a savouriness in that depth which is certainly Pinot-esque. Also here is a seam of minerality I didn't notice previously - really delicious, entering a nice phase and given the evolution, plenty of time ahead of this.

  • enjoyed moreso than my last bottle in Sep 2020. decent amount of body wrapped up in crunchy red fruit. Good on day 2 gaining a touch more depth and a light note of pepper.
Should continue to drink well for a few years yet. decent QPR

  • Medium ruby garnet with some bricking on the rim, medium optical density, and medium specular reflectivity. Aroma intensity is strong, with a balanced mix of red fruit (strawberry), vegetal notes (celery seed, onion skins, and earthy soil), and some dried brambles and flowers. Decent amount of elegant complexity on the nose. On the palate, light in body with medium minus acidity and totally integrated tannins. Still nicely structured. Shows an even and smooth texture, with a dry and open framework. Low in viscosity, but a good amount of concentrated flavours are found here.

Flavours of muted red fruits mixed with garden soil and vegatal notes on the attack. This is filled in with a light mineral note of wet rock and well worn leather by midpalate. Transitions with a warming note of fruit skins and light floral notes before intensity falls off and settles on a medium length finish of tart raspberry and sautéed onions. Overall, medium plus intensity and medium complexity.

This is drinking super nicely at the moment. Just elegant and delicious, with a balanced profile and a drinkable ease about it. Certainly the fruit is faded, but not totally gone; it lies in the background with other notes. This is the perfect table wine with some vinous character that shows all the potential of the Cru. Having recently tasted a 6 pack of 2014 Crus from Jadot, this one is definitely the most structured, elegant, and interesting. While not over the top in terms of complexity, the way it evolves on the palate is a treat. As well, it isn't too intense or dense to overtake food, so about the most versatile table wine you could ask for. Awesome, and ready to go for sure!

  • A medley of crunchy crisp fruit with notes of red apple, red cherry, rasperry (getting the red fruit theme here). Freshness on the palate with relatively high acidity, a touch of earthiness adds some character. medium length to this wine. This would make a good paring to oily/fattier foods. Went pretty well with cajun salmon.
Not too far from village burgundy in profile
